Where do statutory compliance with Building Standards sit within BIM standards? Post Grenfell, and Cole we need to integrate better and enable a culture change where compliance with statutory requirements for Health, Safety and Welfare in and around Buildings together with the Conservation of Fuel and Power and Sustainability are not seen as a hurdle or burden, but a fundemental function of the end product.

I firmly believe that our industry is making progress, albeit at a somewhat slow pace. However, the introduction of Building Safety regulations has the potential to significantly accelerate the cultural shift. Legal requirements have a way of sharpening our focus and driving change.

I agree with you!
You've raised an important and timely point regarding the integration of statutory compliance with Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards, especially in the wake of incidents like Grenfell. The key to addressing this challenge lies in shifting our mindset towards viewing compliance as an integral part of the construction process rather than a hindrance.

Totally agree. This is a personal passion. I do believe we are making progress as an industry all be it slow. However the Building Safety will increase the pace of cultural change. A legal requirement always focusses the mind. Also the recent update report from Judith Hackitt was quite scathing so hopefully this will raise eyebrows in parliament. One of the starting points is good quality, accurate data hence the need for bimstore.
