While there are increasing efforts to promote open BIM, the reality is that BIM objects are still predominantly available in Revit files due to Autodesk's dominance in the BIM software market. Revit holds a significant share of the market, and many architects and engineers are accustomed to using it for their projects. This has led to a situation where many BIM objects are created and stored in Revit format, making them difficult to access and use with other BIM software.

BIM objects are often in REVIT files due to Autodesk's dominant market presence. This doesn't align with the idea of "open BIM," which promotes software-neutral and interoperable BIM objects.
