Merriott discuss benefits of BIM adoption in the September issue

With 2016 looming, bringing with it the Government’s deadline for Level 2 BIM, Building Products Monthly asked their panel of BIM-compliant manufacturers, including Julie Maguire, BIM Coordinator for Merriott Radiators, to discuss how they approached adoption and how this has benefitted both themselves and the industry so far.
In the article Julie talks about industry readiness as we approach the 2016 deadline and discusses in detail the reasons behind investing in BIM, the benefits and advantages it has brought to Merriott and also the barriers that the industry faces with regard to BIM adoption.
When asked what proportion of current active projects are requiring BIM and whether these decisions are client-led or being spearheaded by others our fantastic bimstore analytics came into play. “The analytics we receive from bimstore are the best indicator of who is using our models – and we estimate that active projects requiring BIM account for up to 20% of our business at present”.
