"I would advise someone who is yet to start off with BIM to sit down with Bimstore and understand what they are currently doing in your market sector and what potentially they could add if you were to engage with them. You’d be surprised at what they can offer, the value they can add to your business and their level of expertise." - Sanwal Amjed, Quality Manager, Albion Valves
We recently sat down with Albion Valves to find out about their journey with BIM. The company has been in the industrial heating and valve market for over 40 years and is considered one of the UK’s leading valve suppliers. They are based in Dodworth, near Barnsley in South Yorkshire. It was great to visit their site, meet their friendly, professional team, and be given a tour of the offices and production facility.
We spoke to Sanwal Amjed, their Quality Manager, and talked through how they identified that BIM would be useful to them, how they decided to work with an external partner, and how BIM has benefited their company to date.
Sanwal told us that Albion introducing BIM components not only improved their project support offering to the industry, but also ensured the company was not excluded from large projects where a digital build was mandatory. He also revealed that Albion’s customers have commented favourably on the level of technical information that is publicly available for all of their products, and the addition of BIM files is something the company believes really elevates their offering.
