First version of the new US bimbible available on bimstore.us now

Hot on the heels of last month’s update to the UK version of the bimstore bimbible (taking us to an incredible v13!) today sees the release of the first US version of this popular document.

As we’re sure you already know, here at bimstore our belief is that all content produced should be created to the same extremely high standards which why the bimstore bimbible was brought to life, back in the day when we were the only content creators to openly publish standards for BIM content. Our bimbible is an ever-changing document which develops in line with the industry.

The US bimstore bimbible v1 is a 50 page document defining the guidelines and standards that we follow when creating models for our manufacturers BIM objects. The bimbible gives our content creators all the information they need in order to meet current standards and ensures that all BIM components are created to the highest possible quality. The bimbible combines COBie, IFC, and the National BIM Standards with industry specific standards for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction, to create a unified approach to component creation, publishing, and distribution. You can read more about what our bimstore partner in the US, Adam Thomas, had to say about it here.

If you’re interested, Version 1 of the US bimstore bimbible is available to download freely over on bimstore.us or alternatively, if you’ve not had the chance to catch up with v13 of the UK bimbible you can download that here.
