Having done plenty of work within the education sector, Kensington Systems is the go-to company for innovative solar-control products.
They have carried out vital work on Somerdale Primary School in Bristol where they worked with Beard Construction and Quattro Design Architects to provide a canopy solution. This is part of the extensive new development on the site of the former Fry's chocolate factory, a local landmark.
The canopy needed to be both freestanding and stepped to follow the line of the building. The Spaceshad Max was chosen for its versatility and great aesthetics. RAL 7016 anthracite grey was selected for the finish to match the window system, giving a stunning end result. The new non-fragile canopy blends in superbly with the new school building.
Kensington also provided Elk Door Barriers and the internal Rolshade 430 roller blinds, some of which are mounted in the hall using solar-powered battery technology, a great solution for high-level blinds where no power supply is in place. This project demonstrates Kensington Systems' ability to save contractors time and money by providing the complete Shade & Shelter package.
