Pitched Roof (Habitable)

Donaldson Timber Systems provides a range of room in roof (habitable space) solutions. These include conventional attic roof trusses & open or closed format roof pre-assembled cassettes.

Attic truss solutions are engineering in house using the latest roof engineering software. Trusses are typically installed with crane onsite in conventional manner and require a safety decking system during construction. These often require a central loadbearing wall support below, which must align with the walls/floors to ground floor level. Revit files include make ups for ceiling, rafter and hanging post applications.

Roof cassettes, can be open or closed format, both require some form of ridge of intermediate purlin support spanning gable to gable, subject to span dimensions. Closed roof cassettes are pre-insulated, decked top and bottom, with pre-fitted roofing membrane counter battens and services battens to underside. This solution simplifies and speeds up construction on site, ensuring the superstructure is watertight more quickly than with conventional attic truss solutions.
